Tony Scodwell has had an extensive and impressive career playing in Las Vegas with such greats as the Stan Kenton Orchestra, Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Jimmy Dorsey Band, Harry James, Frank Sinatra…..and the list goes on and on. Justice can’t be done to his talent in this short space! The rim and cup of this piece are an exact replica of Mr. Scodwell’s personal flugel mouthpiece (loaned to me by Mr. Scodwell). The semi-round rim is similar to a Bach 5C trumpet rim. It is extremely comfortable and has a nice inside roundness. It is combined with a medium deep V-cup.

It has a traditional Bach-style rim, a cup based on a New York 3, and the throat is a #24. The backbore is based on a Bach Symphonic backbore 24, which is described as dark and open.
