The Legends Pops, named after a trumpet mentor like we all wish we had – the older gentleman who has decades of experience and is still the coolest cat in the band. This mouthpiece is Pops’ secret weapon for conquering the stratosphere. It’s got a really small inside rim diameter, 0.575″. The rim is flat, and medium sharp on both the inside and outside edges. There’s great inside bite, and the sharpness of the rim doesn’t make it uncomfortable at all, but gives great grip for the chops. The cup is a V-bowl, shallow to extra shallow. The throat is a #30 (definitely tight), and the backbore is a Legends Manhattan, which has a very focused sound. When you’ve got some screaming solo and lead gigs, use this secret weapon to make Pops proud!
