The .640″ L-BL is pretty sweet. It has made playing the trumpet fun for me again. For the first time in my life, I’m able to slot high E-flat (above high C). And the piece has, somehow, added two half steps to my range. I was not expecting this.

I love my custom-made flugelhorn mouthpiece which is similar to my Heim 2 trumpet mouthpiece. I believe it was Derek who suggested some slight modifications to make a flugelhorn mouthpiece modeled after the Heim 2.

I’m loving my Showtime! I played a show last Sunday, a tribute to WWII big bands. I played the whole two-hour show in a 1:00 rehearsal, and then the actual show again at 4:00. No problem!

Thanks, Leslie! I’ve played a lot of mouthpieces over the years. The Legends really are special. I don’t know how you’re different, but keep up the great work! BTW: Is the rim on the Showtime similar to what Warburton calls an “anchor grip” rim? It feels just fantastic.

Chet Baker Piece! Now that is a Very Fun Piece to play! Mellower, yet with more endurance than other similar Bach, Schilke, Yamaha, Getzen pieces I have! My Chet Baker Tribute Gigs will be much benefitted from this. Thank You! Next Gig at The Nash May 3rd. I can blow high notes without them getting harsh as well…Yes!

Hi Leslie — Nailed it! The BC Master feels very similar to my Schilke, slightly smaller, which is what I wanted, very comfortable, and most importantly, much easier to blow. I practiced two hours today and still had a solid G above C at the end.

Hi Derek and Leslie,
I am so delighted with the CEBALLOS mpc and service! I just got it this morning in UK within 3 days of ordering that’s crazy! On first impressions it feels so comfortable and I feel at home. I can express myself fully so happy. The extreme register double high notes that I have never gotten as my top lip ends up shutting off past the G came out of nowhere without the bad habit of pushing the mpc into my lip. I can now systematically work on my technique to settle in that range. Also playing softly with different vibe I get what I wanted for my sound for jazz with the flexibility I wanted. I can’t thank you enough. Early days but this might be a game changer for me even better than my gr that I have used for 10+ years. Eventually I will send you some footage or audio if you wanted to use for promoting.

I’m a 60 year trumpet player and if I make it to age 62 will have been playing for 50 years. I have listened to many great trumpet player and will continue to. I’m a fan of the Big Band era a my main trumpet hero was Harry James. I also love Ziggy Elman, Johnny Best and all of that great era of music. I bought this Legends Brass Harry James model to have along with my Parduba HJ5. This new Legends Brass HJ model plays like a dream and like I took a Time Machine back to the early 1940’s. If you are a fan of that era as well look into any of the Legends Brass legendary trumpet mouthpieces you will not be disappointed by any of them. I bought the Dizzy Gillespie and Chet Baker models for friends.
If you have a trumpet player family or friend treat them to a new Legends Brass mouthpiece. I’m sure that you would be able to buy a gift certificate for them to choose their hero mouthpiece model.

Fantastic Job on my custom mouthpiece! Wow! It is perfectly a level mellower than the CS 650. It still gives me about the same range as the shallower one also! Yes! Great endurance too! Next, I will likely have you make one yet another level deeper/mellower. I am so pleased with the easy high range and easy blow with these, so I don’t think I would want to change the backbore or throat?
