The Legends BC Master. In 1973, Schilke copied Bill Chase’s personal Jet-Tone mouthpiece and modified it to create the 6A4A model sold “off the shelf”. But Bill Chase had a customized personal version of the 6A4A that had a slightly different rim and other slight modifications. In 2018, Schilke made a copy of the customized personal version of the 6A4A, called the 6A4A C. The BC Master rim and cup are identical to this 6A4A C scan. In addition, Legends Brass has made the throat tighter (#30), and added the Legends Manhattan backbore. For most players, this is a more “playable” version of Bill Chase’s personal Schilke mouthpiece. Save this piece for when you want to sound like a laser beam and you’re ready to “get it on”!
This mouthpiece is very popular and there are several product reviews below. Also available is the BC Master Flugel mouthpiece. It has an identical rim, which makes switching between the two very easy.
