Description
The Legends GIR MF2 is based on a scan of a vintage Giardinelli MF2. This is a variation of the Giardinelli MF1, and was made for Maynard Ferguson by machinist Jack Onque in the 1960’s. The GIR MF 2 has a very small inside rim diameter (.580″) and a shallow, slightly convex V shaped, cup (similar to Bach E/F depth). The rim is semi-flat, with a comfortably rounded inner edge. The rim and cup are identical to the vintage Giardinelli mouthpiece, but the Legends GIR MF2 has a standard #27 throat and the Manhattan backbore. This is a great mouthpiece for “Summertime” or any time!
