Description
This piece was inspired by a famous Jet-Tone mouthpiece played by the legendary Roy Eldridge. The rim on the JT RE is unusual. The inside diameter is small, at .550″, but there is some undercut for chop room. The outside diameter of the rim is just 0.980″, making it the most narrow rim in the Legends Brass catalog. The cup is very shallow, with a depth similar to a Bach F. This mouthpiece was designed by scanning the original rim and cup, and adding the Legends Brass throat (#27), throat cylinder length, and Legends Manhattan backbore. The end product is a mouthpiece that can play in the upper register all night long, the way Roy Eldridge did it, with a focused, sizzling sound!
