Description
The MD is based on a vintage mouthpiece that once belonged to an extremely well known jazz and bebop trumpet legend by the initials of ‘MD’. The Legend had the Mt. Vernon Bach Company make an exact copy of the cup and backbore of his primary piece, and then copy the screw rim from his backup piece. Legends Brass used a scan of this vintage piece to develop the MD. The rim is flat and thin, but comfortable. The cup is a medium deep V-bowl (similar to Bach B depth). The throat is an extremely open #23, and the backbore is a broad-sounding Legends Chicago. The Big Daddy blank adds mass to broaden the core and darken the sound. The Legends MD is a faithful reproduction of the vintage rim and cup, made more playable for the modern jazz trumpeter with updated throat, backbore and blank. Every element is geared for bebop, jazz and blues. Choose this piece when you want to be the epitome of cool!
