Description
Legends Hot Vinny 17C2, based on the Bach 17C2 trumpet mouthpiece. In the late 1930’s, the Vincent Bach Corporation was located in Bronx, New York. The 17C1 and 17C2 models were added to production during this time. It is said that these models were made for the legendary Clifford Brown when he visited the factory. Brown’s idol was Fats Navarro, who played a Rudy Muck 17C. The mouthpieces Bach made for Clifford Brown are similar to Rudy Muck 17C mouthpieces, with a wide round cushion rim and shallow round bowl cup. The 17C1 is described in the 1938 Bach mouthpiece guide as being for “hot” trumpet work – and the 17C2 is even more shallow! The Legends Hot Vinny 17C2 has a rim and cup identical to the vintage Bach pieces, with an inside rim diameter of 0.626″, a semi-cushion rim, and a round bowl D/E cup (medium shallow to shallow). Legends Brass has added a #26 throat (slightly open), and a Legends LA backbore. With this combination, you’re ready for any “high and hot” playing that comes your way!
