Description
The Legends Brass JT MF2 mouthpiece was inspired by a vintage MF2 mouthpiece, a model designed for the legendary Maynard Ferguson. The rim just gradually melts into the cup, making it incredibly comfortable. Inside diameter is hard to measure due to the roundness of the rim, but it’s around 0.625″ – bigger than the JT MF and smaller than the JT MF3. The cup is medium shallow to shallow, and is a convex-V from rim to throat. The entrance to the throat is open, so it yields plenty of air flow and a nice big sound. The Legends JT blank is a perfect balance: enough mass to enhance slotting with a big core, but not so much mass that the sound won’t sizzle! Slotting is excellent with this model. Although this design was inspired by a vintage mouthpiece, this is not an exact copy. This piece has the Legends enhanced throat (#27), enhanced throat cylinder length, and the Legends S backbore. This model is great for legit, lead, or any style of playing.
